1Who we are
This policy explains how Comparar Hojas de Cálculo (“we”) handles the information of people who use the website compararhojasdecalculo.com and its online tools to compare, convert, merge, compress, repair and protect spreadsheets.
Comparar Hojas de Cálculo is a free spreadsheet tools site developed in the Dominican Republic under the UbicaloRD.com brand.
The data controller is Comparar Hojas de Cálculo, based in Av. Gustavo Mejía Ricart No. 106, Ensanche Piantini, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. You can write to us about any privacy matter at mail@compararhojasdecalculo.com.
2What information we collect
a) The files you use in the tools
When you use a tool, you choose one or more files (for example XLSX, XLS, CSV, ODS or PDF), which may contain personal data about you or other people. Depending on the tool, the file is processed in your own browser, without ever reaching us, or it is sent to our server to be processed (see section 3). We only use the files to carry out the task you requested.
b) Technical data generated automatically
Like any website, our server records technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, language, pages visited, date and time of access and any errors. We use it to run the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse.
c) The data you send us
If you write to us by email or through the contact form, we process your name, your email address and the content of your message so we can reply.
d) Cookies and similar technologies
We use our own and third-party cookies. You will find the details in section 5 and in our Cookie policy.
We do not ask you to create an account or give us your name to use the tools.
3How we handle your files
Each tool states on its own page where files are processed. These are the two ways they work:
Tools that work in your browser
The file is read and processed on your device. It is not sent to our server, we cannot see it and we do not store it. The result is also created on your device.

Tools that process the file on our server
The file is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our server, where it is processed automatically, without external services. The file and the result are deleted as soon as the result is delivered and, in any case, within 1 hour at most.
- Only for the requested task. We process your files automatically to compare, convert, merge, compress, repair, remove duplicates or protect them, depending on the tool you choose.
- We do not review their content. No one on our team opens or reads your files, unless you expressly ask us to help you with a problem or the law requires it.
- Automatic deletion. For tools that use the server, files and results are deleted automatically; we do not keep copies.
- We do not sell or share them with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes, and we do not use them to train models or build profiles.
- Passwords. If you use the tool to protect a file with a password, the password is used only during the process and is not stored.
We recommend not uploading files with highly sensitive information (for example, health data or card numbers) unless it is necessary for the task.

5Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use technical cookies that are necessary for the site to work (for example, to remember your language or your cookie choice).
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand, statistically, how the site is used (pages visited, visit duration, device type). Google Analytics does not receive your files.
Advertising. We show Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized advertising in Google’s ad settings (adssettings.google.com) and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

6Who we share the information with
We do not sell your data. We only share it when necessary with:
- Hosting and technology providers that help us run the site and process the data following our instructions.
- Google, as an analytics and/or advertising provider, as described in section 5.
- Authorities, when required by law.
7International transfers
Some of our providers may be located, or store data, outside your country. When this happens, we make sure they offer adequate data protection safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or other recognized mechanisms.
8Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information: encrypted connection (HTTPS), processing in your browser whenever the tool allows it, restricted access to servers, automatic deletion of files that reach the server and protection against attacks and abuse of the service. Even so, no system is completely infallible, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9How long we keep the information
- Files processed in your browser: we never receive them, so we do not keep them.
- Files processed on the server and their results: deleted when the result is delivered and within 1 hour at most.
- Technical server logs: as long as needed for security reasons, normally no more than 90 days.
- Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your request and, afterwards, for the periods required by law.
- Cookies: for the duration stated in the Cookie policy.
10Your rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you can exercise the following rights over your personal data:
- Access find out what data we hold about you.
- Rectification correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure ask us to delete it.
- Objection and restriction object to certain uses or ask us to restrict them.
- Portability receive your data in a commonly used format.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what has already been done.
To exercise them, write to us at mail@compararhojasdecalculo.com stating which right you want to exercise. We will reply as soon as possible and within the legal deadlines. Please note that, because we delete files automatically and do not require registration, we may no longer hold any of your data.
These rights are recognized, among others, by Law No. 172-13 on the Protection of Personal Data of the Dominican Republic and, for people in the European Union, by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can also file a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.
11Minors
Our site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
12Links to other sites
Our site may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so we recommend reading their policies.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service or the law. We will publish the new version on this page with its update date. Use of the site is also governed by our Terms and conditions.
